Designing and launching a scalable review platform for Nollywood and global films.

Context

In 2024, I worked with Marapolsa Movies, a media startup aiming to spotlight Nollywood and international films through curated reviews, ratings, and storytelling. The platform was created to establish the client’s digital presence, attract a film-loving audience, and open up opportunities for digital monetization.

The goal was to build a credible, revenue-ready review platform that combined usability, performance, and design consistency — all within 4 months.

Problem Statement

The client wanted to build a credible, engaging movie review platform that could:

Present reviews in a clean, structured format.

Work seamlessly across devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).

Support long-term growth, with the potential to scale into ad revenue, partnerships, or premium content.

The challenge was to translate the client’s broad vision into a clear, usable, and scalable product that could launch as an MVP without feature bloat.
